New Strategic Alliance between Virgin Atlantic & Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines invests $360 million to acquire 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic. Virgin Group and Richard Branson will retain the majority of the 51% stake.

The strategic alliance aims at expanding trans-Atlantic network destinations and enhancing passenger benefits. Passengers have the advantage of frequent flyer program by redeeming and earning mileage points. In addition, elite travellers can enjoy the privilege of shared access to the Delta Sky Club and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse airport lounges.

The two airlines will operate a total of 31 peak-day round trip flights between the UK and North America. Of the total, 23 of the flights from the total will operate at London Heathrow.

Both airlines, Delta and Virgin Atlantic offer a range of services to their passengers. The enhanced in-flight entertainment system and the spacious seating arrangements are the most prominent features of Delta Airlines. On board connectivity and touch screen in-flight entertainment are the main features of Virgin Atlantic.
