The Dubai based airline, Emirates suspends flights to the capital of Syria, Damascus due to security reasons. Emirates operate twice a week to Damascus. However, the airline stopped operations effective immediately until further notice.

This was a haste decision, which comes as a result of the closure of the main airport road. This is part of the uprising and due to the fierce battles between the regime force and rebels.
